Jag kan spotta ut några högst överskattade böcker på direkten: Twilight-serien av Stephanie Meyer och vidundret av det literära språket som är 50 Shades of Gray (50 Nyanser av Honom) E.L. James. Men det känns orättvisst att prata om de där böckerna även om jag är bombsäker på att det är överskattade för jag har inte läst dem och tänker inte göra det heller. Jag vet bara att jag kommer att tycka att huvudpersonen är en idiot och pga. det kommer jag att skada mig själv med för många facepalms.

Mitt officiella val blir då Meg Cabots Queen of the Babble (Babbeldrottningen). Det är nu ganska länge
sedan jag läste boken, men när den kom ut så var det mycket snack om hur positivt
det var att hjältinnan var mullig… eller plus
sized som det heter. Alla blev så imponerade att Cabot vågade skriva om en
tjej som har politisk korrekta mått att man ignorerade allt annat som var
undermåttligt med boken:
- premissen att en tjej alltid måste ha en pojkvän för att hennes liv ska kännas helt
- faktumet att Cabot inte försöker utveckla sitt språk. Alla hennes böcker låter precis som Princess Diaries (En Prinssessas Dagbok). Det kändes nästan som att tjejen i den här boken var Mia, fast i ett parallellt universum där hon fet och inte prissessa.
I can spit out several overrated novels on the fly: the Twiligt series by Stephanie Meyer and the offense to the literary craft that is 50 Shades of Grey by E.L. James. But it's a little unfair to talk about these books, despite me being absolutely sure that they are overrated, because I've not subjected myself to them. I just know that I'll find the protagonist to be an annoying idiot and for this reason, I've decided to spare myself the injuries of one too many face-palms.

- the fact that Cabot doesn't even try to develop her writing style. All her books sound exactly like The Princess Diaries. I felt like the girl in this book was Mia, but in a parallel universe when she is fat and not a princess.
